The Story of Hanukkah

Eight nights, eight lights, dreidels, & gifts, this is the story of Hanukkah. One man had the courage to lead an army in a battle that seemed impossible to win, but with the Lord on his side, nothing was impossible!

Under the rule of King Antiochus the Greeks had desecrated the temple in the most horrifying way & totally disgraced the Jews & stripped them of their faith. But against all odds, Mattathias Maccabee stood strong in his faith & miraculously with his family fought their way back into the city of Jerusalem, cleaned the temple & rededicated it. Thus, the Feast of Dedication, or Hanukkah, was born. It is a time to reflect on the miracles of the past & to spend some time focused on rededicating our temple to the Lord.
