Numbers 13:1-3 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them. 3 And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.

Numbers 13:7-20 7 And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: 18 And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; 19 And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; 20 And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.

Numbers 13:23-33 23 And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs. 24 The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence. 25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days. 26And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land. 27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. 28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. 30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. 32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Ephesians 4:13 (AMP) 13 [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ’s own perfection), the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.

Numbers 14:1-12 1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. 2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! 3 And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt? 4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt. 5Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel. 6 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: 7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. 8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. 9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not. 10 But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel. 11 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them? 12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.

Presuming

21 But what is it? It’s a promise. God made the promise. Let’s stay with it. God promised it. No matter…You’ve got to have a battle. If everything comes lazy, why, you’re…What are you overcoming? They overcome by the Word of God and their testimony, the Blood of Christ.

You’ve got to overcome something, and you’ve got to have some obstacles. And people that different, and fuss with you, and tell you you’re holy-rollers, and things, you—that’s put before you, it’s a trial. If you haven’t got that, then you’re not even in the battle. What did you join the church…

What did you join the Army and get training for? To lay around, strut up and down the streets and show off? That’s the way some Christians act, that we want to be looked up to. You ain’t going to be looked up to. You’re going to be looked down on. “For all that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecutions.” Pick up the Sword, cut everything free from you, and keep going on.

22 Joshua, Caleb, stilled the people. They said, “We can’t take it, we just can’t do it. That’s all.” See, they were looking at the Amalekites. Joshua and Caleb was looking at the promise. That’s the difference. Depends on what you’re looking at. Joshua said, “We’re more than able to do it. We’re more than able. Why,” said, “they’re only bread for us. Why, they look great. They are great. But we’ll have great bread.” Said, “God gave us the promise, and the fear of us is upon every one of them. Yet they different with us; yet they’re scared of us.” Sure. Said, “The fear—fear of the Lord’s upon every one of them. They’re scared to death of us.” Said, “Let’s go take it. God give it to us, so it’s ours. Let’s move on and take it.”

23 Oh, if I could get that Pentecostal group together. That uncircumcised Philistine standing out there, and say, “We have to have all this, and all of that.” Nonsense. “We’ll have to kinda go in the World Council of Churches to have fellowship with them.”

Our fellowship is of—from God, not with no council of men and man-made dogmas. We are—we are people of God who expect fellowship from God. That’s where our rights is, is with God. How can we fellowship with God ’less we fellowship in His Word? Because the Word is God. And the Word’s made flesh when it becomes you. “If ye abide in Me and My Word in you, then ask what you will.” There you are. See? But the Word’s got to abide in here. If it don’t, the shower falls, and, why, it can’t produce, because you don’t believe it. No matter how much you profess to believe it, you got to believe it. All right.

24 So Israel…God called Moses out and said, “I’m going to destroy the whole nation. Just step aside.” Moses interceded, throwed hisself in the breach. It was Christ in Moses. You see? God would’ve killed the whole world one time for sin, but Christ throwed Hisself in the breach for the whole human race. Moses throwed hisself in the breach for Israel.

And he said, “You made a promise, God. You made a promise that you’d take them to the land.” That’s right. What did Moses do to God? When looked like God was going to do something contrary, he throwed the Word in His way. Amen. Oh, I love that. Now, I feel like shouting just talking about it. Put the Word in the way. God can’t walk over His Own Word.

Said, “You promised to do it. You said You would take them to a good land that was flowing with milk and honey. I’ve told them what You said, and here we are. We’re on Your hands.”

God said, “I’ll take that stubborn bunch and let them rot in the wilderness. But I’ll take them children of theirs that they said that wouldn’t go anywhere, they’d perish in the wilderness, and I’ll take them over.” That’s right.

Numbers 14:19-24 19 Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now. 20 And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word: 21 But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD. 22 Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; 23 Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it: 24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Deuteronomy 1:35-36 35 Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers, 36Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD.

What Shall We Do With This Jesus Called Christ?

64-0126 · Phoenix, Arizona

148 Like the spies on the road to the promised land. They was in an exodus, coming out of Egypt, come out by a promised Word of God. God made His Word known by a prophet, Moses, sent him down there. He was identified that He was the God to bring him out under the conditions that He’d promised to, the “I AM.”

149 When they come to the borderland, Kadesh-barnea, the great mistake they made, when they got to the land and looked over into the promised land, they said, “We can’t take it.” What was the other ten? They looked at the circumstances, the prestige they would lose. “We are grasshoppers, to the side of them.”

150 But Joshua and Caleb checked up. They went back to the Word, and the Lord said, “I give you this land! It’s a good land, flowing with milk and honey.” They didn’t count what it looked like, what this was, and what this evidence was. God’s Word said, “I give it to you! Go get it!” And they were the only ones that went in.

151 Oh, let us check the promises of God for today. That’s right. Remember, we’re in another exodus, a time; an exodus, this time, not into a promised land of the earth, but into the promised Land of Glory, where there is no return no more. Glory to God, we’re going to be there! [Blank spot on tape—Ed.] Will you do it, while we bow our heads?

Why?

60-0309 · Phoenix, Arizona

29 Reminds me like in…Someone asked me the question the other night about Hebrews 10, where they who wilfully have sinned, wilfully, and have to renew themselves unto repentance. Why, there’s nothing left for them, but the fearful looking for the judgment. “He that despise Moses’ law, died under two or three witnesses. How much sorer punishment, suppose though worthy, who has trod the Blood of Jesus Christ under their feet, and counted It an unholy thing, done despite to the works of grace…”

I said, “You read over in Deuteronomy 14, where that those spies, Israelites, went with Caleb and Joshua right up to the borderland, and they tasted the grapes that come from the land. But when they went back, they were unbelieving and cowards, said, ‘Oh, we can’t take it; it’s too much for us. Oh, they look like grasshoppers, we do, up beside of them. The cities are all walled in. We cannot take it.’ But Caleb stilled them, and Joshua, said, ‘We can take it. We’re more than able. Yet, we being the minority, but we can take it.’ Why? Those spies was looking at conditions, what the price they’d have to pay, but Caleb and Joshua was looking at a promise of God. God said, ‘I have given you that land, go possess it.’”

30 Glory. The Holy Ghost is for whosoever’s called to this wedding supper. I don’t care what price you have to pay, go get it. God said it’s yours. If you don’t get it, then He’s going to ask you, “Why didn’t you get it? Why? It was there for you.”

If they didn’t possess the land, why? “There was too many against us.”

He said, “Well, if God said, ‘If I’m for you, who could be against you?’” It’s there. What’s the matter? There’s something wrong with the individual.

Now, now, watch. He said, “Many…”

31 You take a young minister feels the call of God in his heart. He will repent of his sins, go off to school and get his education, which is fine. He will come back, and he will still smoke cigarettes, maybe. Maybe, he’s still got a lustful spirit, and he will say, “Oh, I don’t want that, Lord, take it away from me.”

The Spirit of God will come and sanctify his soul, and take that desire away from him. Then he will be brought right up to the borderline, set right in the meetings, and watch the working of the Holy Spirit, see others get healed, hear them speak with tongues, and see signs and wonders done. They’ll set around and watch it, but afraid to put their hand on it. That’s that borderline believer; that’s the fellow, if ever turns away, there’s no more remission for him. Stand right up here, and even look over into the land, who’s received the knowledge of the truth, had a knowledge of the truth, knowed that that was right, but because of prestige, “Well, if I do this, it’ll do this. And if I accept that, it’ll do this.”

See? They refuse it, walk away from it. And he said, “And count the Blood of the Covenant, wherewith he was sanctified,” that far to bring him up on a step to look over into and have a knowledge of it. He was saved and sanctified, but comes up here to look over to receive the Holy Ghost, that new birth, he wants nothing to do with it.

He will say, “Oh, I guess that’s all right for them kind of people, but me, oh, it’s all right, but I will someday.” Now, there’s the trouble, that man is sick and don’t want to take the doctor’s medicine.

Finally, I was down at Brother Jeffries’ there, we found it in a—in a dictionary. Godliness means “to be like God.” Oh, my! After you got faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, then be like God. Whew!

***61 Now, Lord, as we quieten ourself before You, feeling that our great Joshua, the Holy Spirit, our Divine Leader of this day…as Joshua quietened the people before Moses and said, “We’re more than able to take the land.” Because he was looking, not at those Amalekites or Amorites, but he was looking at a Divine promise that had been given by God.

223 Our beloved sister, in the fellowship of the Lord Jesus. As ministers of the cross, we now, as Divine partakers of His blessing at the resurrection, in commemoration of His Word, we ask the evil to leave you, in Jesus’ Name. And may you be healed. May your faith never waver. But, may you succour from God, the wooing of the Holy Spirit, your Strength, that brought you from the dust of the earth, and put every part into your body; He is more than able to repair that which He has made, where Satan has tore down. We present you to God, as a believer, in the Name of His Son, Jesus.

58 They perished, all but three of them. That was the ones who held on and believed the promise. When the weakling said, “We cannot take the land, and it’s too much for us,” and so forth, Caleb and Joshua stilled the people, and said, “We’re more than able to take it, because God promised it to us! I don’t care what the opposition is!”

59 And we still can preach Divine healing, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and still have the power of God to separate us from the things of the world. God said so! The apostolic age has never ceased, and it will not cease, it goes on.

Abraham

182 Now, up on the mountain there, he took his own son, tied his hands behind him, laid him upon the altar, reached down and pulled out the knife, pulled the little fellow’s throat back, and raised his hand to stab his own son to death. And about that time, the Holy Ghost caught his hand and said, “Abraham, stay your hand.”

183 Don’t be scared to walk right down to the last row of life with Him. God will be there on the scene. He’s Jehovah-jireh, “the Lord will provide a sacrifice.” He will make a provision.

184 And about that time, he heard something bleat, and there was a little ram hooked in the wilderness by his horns. Where did that ram come from? They was a hundred miles from civilization. And they was up on top of a mountain where there’s no water. How did that ram get there? God is still Jehovah-jireh. No matter what the circumstances is, He can provide the sacrifice at any time. Amen. No matter what the circumstance is in, He’s Jehovah-jireh.

185 Now, look, it wasn’t a vision. He walked over and picked up the ram, laid it upon there, and stabbed it with a knife, and blood run out of it. It wasn’t a vision he saw, it was actually a ram. It was Christ, the Lamb of God, slain from the foundations of the world. Hallelujah. There He was, Christ. Wasn’t a vision.

31 God’s purpose can never be defeated. There is nothing can defeat it. So how happy ought we to be today, resting upon that beautiful revelation of the Word of the living God, that there is neither things present, nor things that can come. There’s no sickness, no sorrow, no death, no perils, nor nothing can separate us from the purpose of the living God. What God has imagined in His mind, what God has purposed in His heart, to bring to pass; there is no demon, there’s no power, there is nothing can ever separate God’s great immortal, Eternal plan. It must be as God has said.

How Can I Overcome?

63-0825M · Jeffersonville, Indiana

105 Overcome means “to recognize the devil in every one of his tricks.” Lot of people says, “There is no devil. It’s just a thought.” Don’t you believe that. There’s a real devil. He’s just as real as you are or anybody. A real devil, and you must recognize him real. You must know he’s a devil. Then, the same time that you—you recognize him, and know that he’s a devil and he’s against you, then, to overcome, you must recognize that the God in you is greater and mightier than he is, that the One that’s in you has already overcome him. And, by His grace, you are more than a match for him. Amen. There’s real overcoming, when you recognize.

God would not call anyone, ’less he was the seed of Abraham. There they go to Calvary. There they go to possess the gates of every enemy. God bless their hearts as they go, my prayer.

Come right ahead, sisters, if you’re on your road right with them, go right on. Anybody that wants to go right in now, that failed to go in the first place, come right ahead. The gate’s still open. And there where you can possess the gate of every enemy you’ve got, the enemy that chokes you down, the enemy that makes you do things you don’t want to do, the enemy that puts doubt and fear in your heart, right there’s the place to overcome it. It’s already overcome; just go claim it. They’re on their road to Calvary.

27 Now, Israel come up to the Kadesh-barnea and here they come back. And Joshua and Caleb, they were really all fired up. They must’ve had a prayer meeting over there, a real revival of some sort, among themselves. And when they come back, they said, “Yes, we can take it.”

But the other ten said, “Oh, no, we can’t do that. We, it’s just too much for us.” Lack of faith. See? Listen, Christian. Everything is based on faith. And faith cannot be right unless it’s got something to be based on. You can’t have faith, say, “Well, I believe that this is my belief, that…” My belief is no good if it’s contrary to God’s belief. But if my belief tallies with His, then I got a foundation solid. No matter what takes place, we’re just going to go anyhow, ‘cause God said so." Now, that’s the type of faith that Caleb and Joshua had.

“It ain’t how I’m going to take it. Isn’t my business to figure that out, but God said it belonged to us and I—so it’s mine. God said so.”

Philippians 3:7-14 7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:14 (AMP) 3 I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].
