Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Isaiah 41:17-20 (17) When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. (18) I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. (19) I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together: (20) That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
Psalms 34:8-10 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. (9) O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. (10) The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing .
John 7:37-43 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. (38) He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (39) (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given ; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (40) Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. (41) Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? (42) Hath not the Scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? (43) So there was a division among the people because of him.

E-49 People may not recognize God’s gift when He comes down from heaven. But God’s able to speak through some other resource and to reveal it down. I tell you, when God sends anything…

E-7 Now, when this meeting’s closed, you’ll go out somewhere, and somebody say, “Well, I’ll tell you. I got that figured out. See? Now, that was a mind reading. That was this, that, or the other.” And the devil will rob everything away from you that God has given you. What you do when you got it in your heart, you just keep moving on, saying, “God, give me more. Give me more.” And “Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness.” See? If you even hunger for it, you’re blessed just to hunger for it. See? It’s a blessing because you’ve got enough God in you to hunger for righteousness.

E-46 And David said, “As the hart is panting for the water brook…” Oh, he has got to find the water brook or perish. God, let that be our soul today, wounded. If I can’t find the water brook, the hounds will get me pretty soon. But if I can only find Thy water brook, O God…
The little deer knows it’s either; it’s death or the water brook. And David said, “Just as that deer knows it’s death, or the water brook, that’s the way my soul’s thirsting after Thee. I’ve got to find You or perish.” Oh, if we can only get to that kind of life.
“Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.” May that be the motives of this church this morning. May your affections be turned from the things of the world, the cares of the world. Whether it’s your house being cleaned, whether it’s your farm being weeded, or whatever it may be… May it be turned to God.
Thirsting for Life

E-20 When I see a young ladies on the street… Last night when I was going into the hotel, I noticed two nice, young ladies as wife and I were coming, walking in, beautiful young girls, somebody’s darling, some mother and father, maybe little old dad has sweated hard to feed them, dressed very nattily. Walking in, I was remarking what nice clean looking ladies as they walked ahead of us.
And as they went into the door, they entered to the right to a little bar, dingy, dark, with cigarette smoke and whiskey fumes coming from it. I thought, “Oh, you’re walking into the jaws of hell, into the jaws of death.” You may different with me. You may say, “That’s just an old fogy.” But, my friend, in the end of this life, you’ll find out that that’s the truth. It’s death.
You are trying to satisfy a hunger. You are trying to satisfy a thirst with the things of the world. And that thirst was not given you to be quenched by the things of the world, but by Christ, the inexhaustible Fountain of Life.

E-21 When you try to satisfy with that perverted way, tomorrow you wake up with a headache, with a heartache. And you live immorally; you’ve got to face the world with a scar on you the rest of your life. You only get death by doing so.
But let me invite you tonight to a fountain that’s open in the house of God, that smitten rock, a geyser of water springing up, and an invitation that whosoever will, let him come and quench that thirst that God has put in him. Oh, it’s so much easier. It’s so much easier to do right than it is to do wrong. Certainly it is.
Then the devil has another way he makes you to quench that thirst, because after all, it’s a religious thirst. It’s a thirst after God. Then the devil tells you, “Just go join the church. That’s all you have to do.” That’s almost as hy–much hypocrisy or worse, than going into the barroom to thir–or quench the thirst. “Except a man be borned again…”

E-40 Jesus said, “Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” It’s a blessing to even thirst. But the devil has tried to make you think of something else. But the thirst was given you by God.
Listen. How dare you take that blessed holy thirst that God gave you to thirst after Him and try to satisfy it with the things of the world, with television programs, with drinking, with big sprees. The devil has perverted instruments of his own and taken that thirst that God give you to thirst for Him, and making you thirst after the things of the world. And every thirst that you have should be for Him. Certainly. That’s life.

E-38 And as long as human beings search, and hunger, and thirst, calling for the power of God, there’s got to be a power of God somewhere to respond to it. Before there can be a creation, there has to be a Creator in there creating that creation.
When a man longs to see God, there’s got to be a God somewhere that created that desire in him. If the deep’s calling to a deep, there’s got to be a deep to respond to that, because the deep had to be first there to create the call that’s in you.

503 But all this mystery is revealed only, as He promised, to His Bride. Hell is against this Truth, of the revelation of this mystery. But the Bride is standing on it. That’s Her stand.
504 Why do you hunger, Church, why do you thirst? It’s the Father trying to reveal this hidden secret to you. But you let so many things get it out of you. You let your job, you let your wife, you let your husband, you let your children, you let the cares of the world, you let some pastor, you let somebody else get that out of you, when you know that way down in your heart you’re thirsting, hungry. It’s God trying to reveal it to you, see, the revelation. The last day is here. Notice now.
