Genesis 4:1-8 1And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bore Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. 2 And she again bore his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. 3And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

Hebrews 11:4 (KJV) 4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) 1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Matthew 26:30-35 30And when they had sung an hymn they went out into the mount of Olives. 31Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad. 32But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee. 33Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. 34Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. 35Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

Luke 22:31-34 31And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. 33And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. 34And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

Matthew 16:13-20 13When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14And they said, some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father, which is in heaven. 18And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. 20Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

Matthew 16:21-23 21From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. 22Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. 23But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Luke 22:54-62 54Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off. 55And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them. 56But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him. 57And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not. 58And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art aiso of them. And Peter said, Man, lam not. 59And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with h[m: for he is a Galilaean. 60And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew. 61And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. 62And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

James 2:19 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Acts 16:30-31 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

53 What is faith? Faith is something that’s revealed to you; that is not yet, but you believe it will be. Faith is a revelation of the will of God. So, by revelation!

54 And the churches today don’t even believe in spiritual revelation. They believe in a dogmatic teaching of some system. “By revelation Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than that of Cain, which God testified he was righteous.” Amen. I hope you see that. See where we’re living? See the hour?

I was talking to a—a gentleman not long ago, a Christian scholar and gentleman. He said, “Mr. Branham, we refuse all revelations.”

55 I said, “Then you have to refuse Jesus Christ, for He is the revelation of God, God revealed in human flesh.” Unless you see it, you’re lost.

Jesus said, “Except you believe that I am He, you will die in your sin.” He is the revelation of God, the Spirit of God revealed in human form. You can’t believe that, you’re lost. You put Him a third person, second person, or any other person besides God, you’re lost. “Except you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” A revelation!

An Absolute

63-0127 · Phoenix, Arizona

228 In the times of my trouble back there, when I lost my family, and my life almost was taken from me. My little girl died, me praying for her, and after I had been on the streets, day and night, preaching and praying, and trying to do what was right. You’ve heard my life story. Many of you read it. And, my, it come to a place, till I—I see my wife die, right…and me holding her hand. I…My little baby took sick, a few hours after that. And I got down there and prayed, with all was in me. Looked like a black sheet let down, and refused to answer my prayer.

229 Then Satan come to me and said, “You see, you’re only about twenty years old. And here, you, what all you’ve done! And, you, you’ve neglected yourself. And you’ve done all these things. You—you forfeit all your young life, about, when you should have been out having a big time like the rest of the young folks. And here you stood on the street corner, crying and praying. You went all night at a time, in the hospitals, hour after hour. And when it comes to your own blood and flesh, He refuses to hear you.” That was one time I was tempted.

230 But I happened to remember back. “I got an Absolute. Though He slay me, yet I’ll trust Him. I don’t care what comes or goes.”

231 The state senator of Indiana, Sam Isler, he come, too. He’s come at the tabernacle. He’s deceased now, about two years. Fine man. And he used to…He was coming down the road.

232 I was going up, to pray, up at the grave where wife and baby were laying. It was right after the ‘37 flood. I had on a pair of boots, and I was walking up the road, crying.

233 Little Billy, my son, was just about to die, too. And the doctors had done said there’s not hardly anything more to do for him. And—and he had some kind of a dysentery they couldn’t stop, an infection.

234 And I was crying, praying, and I thought. Well, I was still holding on to God. I was going up the road, crying.

235 I thought I’d go up and listen. I used to set up there, of an evening, by the grave. I’d hear an old dove come down there and go to singing. I hear the pines blow, and the—the—the winds through the—winds through the pines, rather. And it sound like they would say:

There’s a Land beyond the river,
They call the sweet forever;
We only reach this Shore by faith degree.
One by one we gain the portal,
There to dwell with the immortal,
Someday they ring the golden bells for you and me.

236 I’d stand there, cry, and look up. And I would say to the wife and baby, I say, “I—I know that you’re not laying here. This is just where I planted the remains that I held in my arms. But somewhere, beyond the river, you’re there.”

237 So, but, see, I—I was going up to that place, one day, to set up at the grave. Had on a pair of boots, walking along. An old car come up behind me, stopped. It was Mr. Isler, the state senator. He jumped out of the car. Pulled around and come back. Put his arms around me, said, “Billy, I sure feel sorry.”

I said, “That’s all right, Brother Isler.”

238 And he said, “I—I oughtn’t to have stopped.” He seen I was weeping.

I said, “That’s all right, Mr. Isler.”

And he said, “I’m going to ask you something, son.”

I said, “All right. Go ahead and ask me.”

239 He said, “I’ve seen you stand there in that pulpit till I thought you’d die.” Said, “I’ve seen you fast till you’d be so peaked I’d feel sorry for you, and,” said, “in and out, and in and out, day and night.” He said, “And then your wife and baby in there, see, you look at them things.” He said, “What does Christ mean to you now?” I said:

Thou the Stream of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Or whom in Heaven but Thee?

240 See, I had found that Absolute, that Something that held me when the storm was on.

241 Someone said to me, said, “Billy, did you keep your religion during the time of your trouble?”

I said, “No. It kept me.” See?

242 That’s what it was. I was tied to Him in the hours when my strength was gone, and there’s nothing I could do. My anchor held within the veil of His Word yonder.

243 Where, sometimes I don’t understand it. Sometimes I think, “What makes me do the things I do?” There is Something withinside me, pulsating me. I can’t keep from doing it, brother.

Works is Faith Expressed

105 Now, faith is “a revelation from God.” Now, faith is a revelation. There’s where I want to stay, there, just a moment. It’s a revelation. He has revealed it to you by His grace. It’s nothing you did. You didn’t work yourself up into faith. You ever have faith, it’s give to you by the grace of God. And God reveals it to you, therefore faith is a revelation. And the whole Church of God is built upon the revelation.

1 Timothy 1:4 4Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

1 Timothy 1:4 (CJB) 4Have them stop devoting their attention to myths and never-ending genealogies; these divert people to speculating instead of doing God’s work, which requires trust.

Leading of the Spirit of God

62 I am not beside myself, no, but such a feeling to know that now, right here, stands Jesus, the One Who raised from the dead, the One Who loves you so much. He’s speaking for me, now. I’ve been preaching about Him; He’s talking, now. That’s Him.

Excuse me, lady. I didn’t mean to leave you. I have to follow the way the Spirit leads.

Now, here’s a dark streak coming from a woman to another one. What is it? It’s a devil. He knows his time has come. This woman here has…You’re extremely nervous, aren’t you, lady? Just hysterically nervous. I see you trying to do things, and you just can’t. You’re just nervous, mental nervous. Satan told you that you were going to lose your mind if you didn’t get over it. But he lied to you.

63 That little lady setting right there, second one in right back there, she’s bothered with nervousness, too. Isn’t that right, lady? See what I mean? This demon knows if that woman will halfway believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and I’m His prophet, that’ll have to leave her. And that demon was calling to that one for help, for help to accumulate unbelief, but he’s lost the battle. Sure he has. Faith is gathering.

Very nervous, upset, you’re bothered about somebody else, too. That’s a man. And that man’s a soldier, been a soldier. He’s a veteran of the war. It’s a mental trouble. It is your—it’s your husband’s brother, your brother-in-law. Your husband has a habit, too, that he ought to quit: smoking. Don’t fear, sister. Have faith in God. Come here for the blessing.

I lay my hands upon this, my sister. Satan, you evil, selfish, ungodly spirit, I challenge you in the Name of Jesus Christ in a duel of faith. You’re exposed. Come out of the woman. In Jesus’ Name. Go in peace, my daughter, and may God be with you and bless you.

The Rapture

65-1204 · Yuma, Arizona

65 But, to the Church, the Bride, the Rapture is a revelation to Her. It’s revealed to Her. That, the revelation, the true Bride of Christ will be waiting for that revelation of the Rapture.

66 Now, it is a revelation, for the revelation is faith. You cannot have a revelation without it being faith. Faith is a revelation, because it’s something that’s revealed to you. Faith is a revelation. Faith is something that has been revealed to you, like it was to Abraham, that could call anything contrary to what had been revealed to him, as though it wasn’t so. Now, faith, that’s what faith is, is the revelation of God. The Church is built upon a revelation, the whole entire Body.

Christ Is The Mystery Of God Revealed

63-0728 · Jeffersonville, Indiana

262 God, by grace, sent Israel a Pillar of Fire, a prophet, a sacrifice, and showed Hisself among them, and brought them out of Egypt, across the Red Seas. And they wanted a law, so they could have great dignitaries, they could have something to do into it. And what did they do? They was left in the wilderness for forty years, to wander, and not one of that organization ever went over.

263 Caleb and Joshua, the only two that stood out and said, “We’re able to take it, to look at the Word of God.”

264 Every one of them died in the wilderness. And Jesus said they were Eternally gone, right, after He had showed His blessings and power in their ages; like Luther, Wesley, and so forth. Did He?

Said, “Our fathers eat manna in the wilderness.”

265 He said, “And they’re, every one, dead.” That’s, Eternal separated from God. Their carcasses perished in the wilderness. See? “They are dead. But I’m the Bread of Life that come from God out of Heaven.” They couldn’t see it. They just couldn’t see it.

266 All right, church has long forgotten it. They accepted intellectual message, intellectuals, membership, knowledge, instead of the revelation of the Truth of the Word.

Why?

55 The old saint one time, setting in a church…A few weeks ago I was supposed to be in a Chicago meeting, and a great minister there said, “We can’t have Brother Branham because of his doctrine.” And I don’t preach no doctrine among them, but he just wanted to say that.

And he got some great big fellow from some big institute there. He come walking, his chest, with enough papers laid out there looked like that he could’ve done anything with it. Walked up with his chest out, throwed that back, this big book, in an intellectual talk. My, it was wonderful, his intellectual talk. But there was no Spirit in it.

56 After while he seen that didn’t go with God’s people, just like Saul trying to put his ecclesiastical vest on David, a man of God: it didn’t fit him. And an intellectual message don’t fit a Spirit-filled church. They’ve got to have the power of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation. Jesus said these signs will follow them. They got to have it.

And then the man found out that it didn’t take with the Pentecostal people. He folded up his books and come down with his head drooped.

An old saint setting over in the corner come told me later, said, “If he would’ve went up the way he come down, he’d have come down the way he went up.” So that’s about the way it is today.

What we need is back to the Holy Ghost, back to the Bible, back to the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and not all this here reasonings, and intellectuals, and so forth.

Mark 16:1-8 1And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. 2And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. 3And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? 4And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. 5And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. 6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. 7But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. 8And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.

Malachi 4:5-6 5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 6And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Many Believed

John 2:23 23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

John 7:30-31 30Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. 31And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

John 8:30-31 30As he spake these words, many believed on him. 31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

John 10:41-42 41And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no cmiracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true. 42And many believed on him there.

John 11:45 45Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

John 12:9-13 9Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. 10But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; 11Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus. 12On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

John 12:42–43 42Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: 43For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

143 And the biggest part of our faith is mental faith. By hearing the Word, it brings us to a mental recognition of God.

144 But if This, coming from Above, oh, brother, if It ever strikes this, there is a godly spiritual faith. Then what does that faith do? That faith recognizes only the Word. No matter what anything else says, it only recognizes the Word, because, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” And the Word is still God. “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” And when the Word Itself is pouring into our faith, our mental faith becomes a spiritual revelation.

145 “And upon this foundation I’ll build My Church.” See? Not upon a mental conception of church joining, a mental conception of That; but upon the revelation, when them streams of grace has poured into that mental faith that you’ve got. Then, upon this, a spiritual revelation, “I’ll build My Church, and the gates of hell can’t prevail against It.” See? That shows they would be against It, but it’ll never prevail. Oh, what a glorious thing! Now see the faith. These five streams…

I had a piece of chalk here, but I guess he never brought it out.

150 Then, that was number one. Number one, coming to you, your mental faith right here, comes the Holy Spirit coming down into your mental faith, making it a spiritual faith. Then the spiritual faith only recognizes the Word.

Luke 24:13-35 13And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. 14And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. 16But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. 17And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? 18And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? 19And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: 20And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. 21But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. 22Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; 23And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. 24And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. 25Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: 26Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. 28And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. 29But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. 30And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. 31And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. 32And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? 33And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, 34Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. 35And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

6 I just left a little woman coming in from Germany. A few weeks ago she lost a baby. And she was standing near in California, once, where they brought in a little baby had been dead, died one morning about three or four o’clock. Parents had drove all day, and it was about three, four, five o’clock, yes, about six o’clock in the afternoon, the mother setting in the back of the car, holding this little cold form in her arms. And when they come to the place where I was at, San Bernardino, they took the little baby, brought it to where I was standing. And I said, “Oh, how long has the baby been dead?”

She said, “Since this morning, early.”

And I picked up the little cold form. It was already stiffened. And these people standing around…I held it in my arms, started praying to our precious Lord. I felt the baby was getting warm. Just kept holding it, just a few minutes, and it started kicking, crying. I handed it over to its mother. So then when…

8 This little mother standing there, she’d…Her baby died over in Germany. Her husband’s a chaplain. And they called up long distance about five times through a day and night to ask me to come, said they knowed that God would raise that little baby up. I said, “Let me go, pray,” and I went and prayed, prayed that afternoon, that night.

And I’ll show you whether the doctors believe or not. When she’d already give the doctor my book to read, on…I believe, called, “Prophet Visits Africa,” something like that. And when…She said, “God will raise the baby up.” The little mother said, “God will raise the baby up.” And the baby had been dead before they knowed it, about four or five hours. And so they got the father word down to the base where he was. And the baby had been dead, died in the night.

And so the doctor said, “All right. Tell you what I’ll do.” Said, “I’ll slip over and turn the oxygen back on.” And he let that baby lay there for two days with the oxygen turned on it, waiting. And I was over here praying. They was going to fly me across with a jet. I could leave here with an Army jet and be back the same day, to Germany.

9 And one morning about daylight I got up, and the wife went out of the room, and…She went out of the room. I’d just wakened up, and I, laying there a little bit. Directly I heard Something coming into the room, and I looked. There was Something moving in the room. And I jumped up, and I said, “Lord, what would You have Your servant know.”

Said, “Do not rebuke that. That’s the hand of the Lord.” See?

So I got her on the phone. I said, “No. God has called your baby.”

And so when she come over to see us, the night…Left her at the house when I left yesterday. She said, “What was it, Brother Branham? My—my weakness of faith?”

I said, “You have great faith. You prayed for your baby, you and your husband held on to it, “God, to raise that baby,” and He refused to do it because He knows what’s best, and still you love Him, that’s real faith. Anybody, when mountains are moving, and things, can have faith, but let it go backwards one time, and see how it works, that’s when you prove whether you got faith or not.

Every son that cometh to God must be chastened and tried of God. So remember, our trials works patience, and patience works hope, and so forth. So we just hold on to God. Whether He blesses us or not, we are right there to believe Him anyhow, ‘cause He’s promised it. And to see how He does…
