The End-Time Evangelism

June 3, 1962 · Jeffersonville, Indiana

57Jesus said, “Ye must be born again.” In order to be born again, it’s letting yourself go and die, and the Spirit of Christ come into you. Then you’re no more yours; it’s Christ in you, see, the Holy Spirit. Paul said, “I die daily; yet I live, not I, but Christ liveth in me.” See, Christ!

Jesus Christ The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever

June 4, 1963 · Tucson, Arizona

5So, therefore, no man could save another. If it would have been so, Jesus would not had to die. But when Jesus died at Calvary, He settled the sin question forever. . . . The price was paid, completely. It was so met that God identified that it was true.

6Now, the only thing we have to do, to receive this, is to accept it, to believe it and accept it. But no matter how much that He died for our salvation, we—we must, ourself, accept it as our own personal experience, our—our own desire. We must want to be saved, and believe that upon the basis of His shed Blood that we are saved after we have met the requirements of the Bible.

7I believe in the Bible being the full revelation of Jesus Christ. Now, I do believe that God can do things that’s not written in the Bible, because He’s God. But as long as we can find it in the Bible, as a promise, then we know it’s true, because the—the Word is true, always. And so we believe Him to keep His promise.

Presuming

January 17, 1962 · Phoenix, Arizona

252A call of God is something you don’t presume. It’s something, an actual experience, something that you’ve talked face to face with God, and you know you’re commissioned to go do it. “Surely I’ll be with you.” You don’t presume nothing. You just believe it. Yes. Don’t presume it.

253Just don’t presume, “I’m running all right.” Wait for a Christian, personal experience. Don’t claim the Holy Ghost when you see yourself still dilly-dallying in the world. Don’t do that. Don’t. You, you’d be better off if you just forgot about it, see, if you forgot.

254“Well,” say, “Brother Branham, I—I got shivers over me one day.” That—that—that—that might be all right, too. See? But you say, “Well, I—I danced in the Spirit. I might have spoke with tongues. I—I—I might have done these things.” That’s fine. Yes, sir. That’s all right. But if that life hasn’t straightened up, if you men still smoke cigarettes, tell jokes, take sociable drinks, lie, cheat, not honest with your neighbor, not even honest with your family, see, and claim to have the Holy Ghost, don’t you testify that no more, brother.

255And you women that hasn’t the common decency to let your hair grow out, like God told you to. That’s right. The Bible said that a woman that’ll bob her hair dishonors her head, and, her, that dishonor her husband. And you that’ll wear these little old garments like the rest of the world wears, the Bible said that he that…“A woman that’ll put on a garment that pertains to a man is an abomination,” filthy in the sight of God. And then you claiming to have the Holy Ghost? You’re presuming you’ve got It. But when you get It, It cleans you up, that’s right, makes you different.

256You that claim you have the Holy Ghost, and you that’s got long hair, and wear your dresses neat, everything like that. And you’ll stay home on Wednesday night to watch a program, a television program, instead of going to church to prayer meeting, you’re presuming you got the Holy Ghost. For when the Holy Ghost is in there, the love of God is so constrained in you, till you just can’t stay away from the people. See? You that has to be forced to prayer!

Be Not Afraid

June 7, 1963 · Tucson, Arizona

204Paul found a bunch of good thoroughbred Baptists up there, and he said, “Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed?” Not when you believed. But, “After you believed, have you received the Holy Ghost.” It’s a personal experience that comes. And when that great unchangeable God sent His Message down, He never changes. Amen.

Broken Cisterns

80Or, even to the written Word, It’s got to be quickened by the Holy Spirit. No matter how much theology you’ve got, it’s laying there dead. I could have a handful of wheat; until it gets into the process to where it can be quickened, the wheat will never live. And you can have a doctor’s degree, Ph., LL., whatever you wish to; but until the Holy Spirit comes upon that and quickens it to you, as a personal experience with God, then the wheat does no good. Your learning is in vain.

Blasphemous Names

November 4, 1962 · Jeffersonville, Indiana

232The Church is the mystical Body of Christ, born of the Breath of God. Oooh! Did you get it? [Congregation says, “Amen.”—Ed.] The Church of God is born of the Breath of God. God breathed Breath into the nostrils, spiritually, of Adam, and he became a living soul. Did you know the pentecostals, or the true pentecostal Church, is born of the Breath of God? [“Amen.”]

The Power Of Decision

October 7, 1955 · Chicago, Illinois

46What was God saying there? The same thing He said to Moses. In other words, “This Holy Ghost manna that begin to fall on the day of Pentecost was to sustain the Church, and the Church was to live only by the Holy Spirit until the day we enter the Millennium.” Hallelujah. What is it? The same Holy Ghost. Now notice, it was for everyone that was a priest in the Old Testament. Everyone in the New Testament that becomes a Christian, born again, becomes a priest to God. And we are priests and kings. A priest is to make sacrifice. And we give to God the sacrifice of our lips, giving praise to His Name. Say, “I don’t feel like it.” Do it anyhow. That’s a sacrifice. Hallelujah. Say, “I feel too tired.” The devil will tell you that, till he takes you to hell. That’s right. You’re to make a spiritual sacrifice: the fruits of our lips giving praise to His Name, priests and kings unto God. The Bible said we were, made us priests and kings unto God.

The Supernatural

January 29, 1956 · Owensboro, Kentucky

20But it’s the attitude of the people that brings the results. That’s the reason at Pentecost they had to go to an upper room and pray until the Holy Ghost came, ’cause they got in one place and one accord. It’s the atmosphere what brings the results. You believe that? Let every man and woman in this building this morning, boy or girl, get everything from their minds but the Lord Jesus, and believe that He’s standing present right now, and you’ll see something happening that’ll cause headlines in newspaper in the morning. That’s right. It’s atmosphere.

I don’t believe in joking from the pulpit, because the pulpit’s no place to joke. It’s a sacred place. I’m quoting something, just to—for this here. Mr. Bosworth, very good sense of humor, and he said, “Brother Branham, to prove that it’s atmosphere,” said, “you could take a hen egg and put it on a—under a puppy and tie him down and it would hatch a chicken.” See? It’s the warmth of the puppy’s body that would hatch the egg. It don’t have to be under the hen; it can be under the puppy. It could be in a incubator. It’s the atmosphere.

And it’s the atmosphere that brings the miraculous, and wonders, and powers of God among the people. It’s the atmosphere of the people. And when people get to a place they’re reasoning, and wondering, and stewing, and thinking, and all tore up, and don’t know where they do stand, half of them not even Scripturally taught, how can you expect the atmosphere to be right? You can’t do it; it won’t be right. It’s got to be in one accord, one place, and settled down with one motive, one thing, then you’re going to see something happen.
