43And many time, men and women hear God’s Truth, and see It vindicated and proven, Truth, but yet they don’t want to hear It. There’s some other reason. There’s some other choosing that they have, than to face up to Truth and facts, therefore their ears can be closed to the Gospel. They’ll never hear It again. My advice to you, when God speaks to your heart, you act right then.

You’re filled with something. You can’t set there without being full of something. You’ve got a life in you. That life governs you, and that life is governed by a spirit.

You might be full of creeds from some church, some little prayers that you say, you think it’s going to pray to some dead person, or—or make some kind of a sign across you. God be merciful to you.
138And you may be full of religion, and that’s worse yet. That’s right. That’s right. The Bible said, “In the last days they’d be very religious, having a form of godliness; having a form of godliness, but denying the Power thereof: from such turn away.”
If you are full of religion, you’re miserable; just religion, that’s all. If you’re full of creeds, you don’t know what you’re talking about. If you’re full of the world, you’re blind.
139And then, again, you may be full of the Holy Ghost. Amen. I hope you are. And, if you’re not, I hope you get full. And if you’re full of the Holy Ghost, what you got? You got Power. You got love. 61Where is our Power? Where’s our glory? What is it? Because we went after the wisdom of man instead of the Power of God! Why, they got our preachers and things is so stiff and starchy, till they’ve organized us till we’re so starchy and stiffnecked, till people…Do you ever hear a shout in the church anymore? You never hear anybody cry. The mourner’s bench is put in the basement. There’s no more glory in the church. All we do is sit back just as stiff as we can be. We’re not free. We’re bound. The devil, with his modernistic demons, has bound the church of the living God. That’s right. There’s no more Power in the church. There’s no more freedom. The people are so starchy and stiff! Why, the God can come into the midst of Pentecostal people, and show that He’s God, and prove His signs of His resurrection, it don’t even shake them. Glory! Why, it’s a disgrace! I walk across the country, God working, performing signs, and people sit, and, “Well, I guess that’s all right. Oh, I know it can be done.” It doesn’t move them! Why? They’re bound with Delilah, the world. They’re in fetters.
62Now they’ve even got them into, bound them into a confederation. “The Philistines are on thee, Samson.” What you going to do about it?
63“Oh, we’ve got great denominations.” Sure. “We have greater membership than we ever had.” But where’s the Spirit? Where’s the Holy Ghost?
64That’s what the devil has done. It’s wooed into the church. It’s kept wooing the church, “Come to me, I’ll give you a great big tabernacle over here if you’ll just do this. If you’ll get rid of that fanatic preacher you got, and get a man, a Doctor of Divinity that’s got some sense, we’ll build a nice big classical church and we’ll be like the rest of them.” Shame on you! Rather have a man that didn’t know split coffee from beans, but was filled with the Holy Ghost, that was uncompromised, by the Power of God.
65But it’s got, oh, so starchy, till some poor saint can break through in the meeting and speak in tongues, or shout a little bit, or do something, and the rest of them will all gander around and look. “What was that? Well, wonder why? That must be a fanatic dropped in somewhere.” You know that’s the truth! Some poor saint step in, get happy enough to raise their hands, and cry and praise the Lord, somebody who will holler “amen” to the preaching of the Gospel, and the rest of them turn around and see what he said. That’s Pentecostals. What’s the matter? You’re patterning after the Methodist, after the Baptist; they patterned after the Catholic; Catholic patterned after hell. And, all together, it all after hell! Right.
66Delilah has wooed you into big churches, fine, educated ministers, take the better class. “Well, you know, So-and-so down here is a millionaire, if we would just get him to come into our congregation! Oh, my!” If he isn’t born again, then he doesn’t deserve to be there. I don’t care if he’s got a million dollars. If he owns forty Cadillacs, whatever he’s got, he’s got to be borned again, come right down to a new birth and be regenerated by the Holy Ghost, and come out of there in a new birth, snotting (excuse me), a-crying and screaming, and carrying on like the rest of them do, and live a life afterwards to prove he’s got It. Amen. That’s what you need.

60Now, we find out then, when a man rejects the leading of the Holy Spirit… You know what God did for Saul? He give him an evil spirit to lead him. Now, how about that? He give him an evil spirit; God gave him an evil spirit to lead him. So when a man rejects the leading of the Holy Spirit, or any person rejects the leading of the Holy Spirit, you got a devil on you to lead you. That’s exactly the Bible.
Oh, God, I wish we could have a revival. I wished there could come a time that when the Holy Spirit could really get into the hearts of the American people again, that they would see it’s Him. They want to look, say, “Well, now look. I can’t cooperate in this meeting because my church don’t…” What difference does that make? What’s that got to do with it? “Well, I’ll tell you; they—they believe in this, and we don’t believe that.” As long as they’re preaching the Bible, and the whole Bible, and the full Gospel, and nothing but the truth, listen to it. Long as they’re led by the Spirit, believe in it. And God will make Himself known.
If a man is led by the Spirit of God, God will make Hisself known to that person. Yes, sir. God promised to. So in doing that, we know then that—that the Holy Spirit leads the people and God takes care of it. Amen. You believe that with all your heart? Certainly, we do. All right.

25I’ve seen people come to the platform. I’d say, “Do you believe?”
“Oh, I’ve got all faith, Brother Branham.”
Now, I don’t mean to be belittling them. I respect that. But they’re supposed to be up here, and here they are way down here. But do you know what it is? It’s hope instead of faith. Faith does the job right now. Hope hopes for it, but faith is the product. Faith really does it. See, we have lots of hope, but not much faith. So we want to change from hope today to positive faith. And there’s only one way we can get positive faith: that’s by positive thinking of positive things. Now, for instance, what if some of you women today went home and or tomorrow. I wouldn’t think you’d want to do it today. But tomorrow, you go and plug up your electric iron to do your ironing and there’s no current. Why, would you throw up your hands and say, “Alas and alack; there’s no such a thing as electricity.” Well, certainly not. You’ve got your wires crossed up somewhere. There’s plenty of electricity; you just haven’t got it connected right. Is that right?…?… when this one was prayed and why didn’t you get healed? “There’s no such a thing as Divine healing.” That’s just as senseless as the other is. Surely. Others are getting healed, why can’t you? See? You just… It’s the wires breaks down… The Holy Spirit will only…
26Look, that electricity… Look, the whole world is full of electricity, did you know that? You could go to New York City and pick up a copper wire, and go to a Los Angeles with copper wire… Take a helicopter and fly it five miles high in the air, and drop that copper wire and pick up enough electricity to set the earth afire with the current. That’s how much electricity there is in the earth. Sure.
Now, if only the whole world was full of electricity, and you’re setting out in the middle of a big dark field at nighttime, and you can’t see where you’re going, and you’re hollering, “Oh, electricity, oh, electricity, come make a light for me. I know you can light, but come make a light for me, electricity. I know you can get—get out of this dark place. I know that you’re here, electricity. Science proves that you’re here. Come make a light.” Now, you’re just wasting your breath. That’s all.
27Now, if that electricity will light up… If you will get the electricity in the right flow of its category, it’ll light up if you put it in its right position.
Now, the whole earth… The whole room here is full of the power of God, enough to make this boy setting here in the wheelchair walk, make this woman walk, make this lady in the stretcher walk, make all these people along here walk, make the blind see. But the first thing you have to do is get that Holy Spirit flowing in the right category. Do you believe it? It’s here.

19Did you ever see people you love to be around, just love to be around them? Because they create an atmosphere, a heavenly, and you like to be around them. Others seem to be good people, but you just—I have to get away once in a while, that… You know what I mean. And yet they seem to be good people. It’s not creative.
And man was made to be a god; we know that. Genesis 1:26, he had domain over the whole earth, and he was made to be an amateur god. And now, when he receives God, he becomes a son of God again. He was made in the image of God. God had hands; God had feet; and so therefore a man was made like Him. So he is an amateur god. But sin has blinded every fiber in his body, in his mind, in his heart. But now, don’t never try to study it out. You cannot figure it out.
In the garden of Eden Satan chose his part of the man: his head, his intellectuals. God took his heart. The intellectuals will reason. “Why, well, I’m—I’m this way, and I’m that way.” You’ll never get anywhere with God there. But your heart, your faith will make you believe things that your mind knows nothing about. You cast down reasoning. See, you must be positive, and you stay there until you are positive. Then when you’re positive, there’s nothing can turn you.

19Now, here’s what happens. When a man starts out, he will go to reason. He will go to the schools of theology. And he will go from church to church and wonder if this one’s got the truth, or if that one’s got the truth. Or he will take his membership from one church to another. You should never do that. You should put your membership in heaven on the Book of Life. And there it’ll be forever.
Now, all churches, Christian churches, has good meanings, every one of them, and I believe every one of them has truth. And now, I don’t mean to try to say now they don’t have all the truth. Sure, I believe… If they believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that’s the truth. Amen.
Now—now, but what a man will do, he will hear a little something and keep moving his—his papers. Well now, you’ll never find Christ moving your papers. You have to move your thoughts. You have to move your thinking, and get away from reason and move your thoughts from your own way of thinking to what God thinks. “Let the mind that was in Christ Jesus be in you.” And then when you begin to think His thoughts, you’ll begin to live His life and do the things that He did. See what I mean? Now, because it’s not you; it’s Christ.

12The mind of Christ is to be in the church. And the mind of God was in Christ. And how that the Spirit led Christ, so ought His Spirit lead the church. And all that God was He poured into Christ; and all Christ was He poured into the church. So the church has the power that Christ had. Christ had the power that God had. He said, “At that day you’ll know that I am in the Father, the Father in Me; I in you and you in Me.” You’ll find out that God dwells in His church, in His people. Now, we find that God does everything—or Christ, rather, every move that He made on earth had a meeting—meaning to it.

That’s how visions at nighttime… If I use my own mind, how—what could I do? I couldn’t do nothing. But just yield myself to Him, and then He uses my mind, my eyes, my mouth. He’s my all. Just yield. That’s the way you do it. That’s the way these ministers do when they’re preaching the Gospel. They get up there and take a text, why, they just start off to preach, and yield themselves to God, they’re ministers, the first thing you know, the Holy Spirit maybe take them on another text, take them somewhere else.

93But if that channel has been cleared out and been purged, and been filled on the inside with the Holy Spirit, that don’t even come in memory, no matter about Miss Jones and what she did. 108What you got then? You’ve got a solar system. Hallelujah! It’s, God set the stars in order and said, “Hang there till I call you!” They stay there. Nothing’s going to move them. When God can get a man in His hands, till he can get senses, conscience, everything cleaned out, until it stands with God behind it, in the spirit, there’s not a devil in the world can poke a doubt in there. That’s right.
He come around and say, “You don’t feel any better.”
109Your conscience is even gone, to that. The flue is so clear, it shouts, “Hallelujah!” The outlet blows a whistle, “Glory to God!” It shines out, certainly, just as clean and clear, for the Word of God to work through, the Power of God. See? That’s the main thing.
110There’s your battleground. Your battleground is back here at the beginning, back here in the soul, back in your mind that opens. The—the mind is the gate to the soul, the gate to the spirit, rather. Your mind opens up and accepts the spirit, or it rejects the spirit. You can have little consciences, and little feelings, and little sensations, all these things. That has nothing to do with it. That’s just little sensations and things. But when it comes to reality, your mind opens it up. Your mind either accepts it or rejects it. That’s it, friends.
God, let none of them miss it.
111See, it’s your mind that opens up the door; or closes the door, and listens to your conscience, listens to your memory, listens to your affections. But when your mind closes itself to these things, and let God, the Spirit of His Word, come in, It blows the rest of the stuff out. Every doubt is gone. Every fear is gone. Every sensation of doubt is gone. Every feeling is gone. There’s nothing standing there but the Word of God, and Satan cannot battle against That. No, sir. He cannot battle against It. Now, we know that’s true.
112These battles has raged since the day of the garden of Eden, the battle in the human mind. Satan started it. What did he do when he met Eve? He didn’t deny God’s Word, but he whitewashed It. He stopped up some little channels here somewhere. He said, “But surely God…” Genesis 3:1. See? “Surely, God, all these things that He—He—He promised…” He knowed the Word was right. But he knowed he couldn’t just come right out and blast It out, blare like that, but he—he—he sugar-coated It.
Everlasting Life and How to Receive It

51You just imagine somebody hates you, once. And they don’t hate you, but you imagine they do. And you just keep thinking, “They don’t like me.” And the first thing, you’ll be shunning that person, when they haven’t done nothing to you. And after a while, it become so a reality to you, till you actually believe that that person doesn’t like you. And you’ll might bawl them out, or say something to you. For instance, your wife, or your husband, or some neighbor, or something like that, when, the person is absolutely innocent of any ill thing. It’s because that you just imagine it so, but, till it become a reality to you. Now see what I mean?

Who is This?

18What if Abraham would’ve took what it looked like, twenty-five years waiting for a promise that God gave him? Why, he’d have never had the baby. They’d have never—he’d never been the father of little Isaac. But he believed God’s Word and wouldn’t turn It loose. But he watered it day and night, strong, giving praise unto God. Oh, when Sarah would say, “Honey, it’s been twenty-five years ago since the promise was made, here I am nearly a hundred.”
He’d say, “Praise God, we’re going to have it anyhow, ’cause God said so, and that settles it.” That’s right. He knowed the nature of God because he was a friend of God. He knowed how to take Him, because he knowed that His promises, no matter how foolish they looked, or how simple they looked, or how unreasonable they looked, they were true because God said so, and that settled it forever.
That’s the way every seed of Abraham does today. That’s the way the borned again Christian does today. No matter what the world says, what science says, what they say, this, that, or the other, God’s Word stands above it all. And they’re looking at His Word and what He said to be the truth. It doesn’t matter if they say today the world can’t be burned up, and the dead, or them bodies can’t rise again. God said so, and that’s the truth; that settles it forever. God said so, and we keep our eyes on what He said.
God Using His Gift

30You know, when you think about God, when you keep your mind…Oh, you’re think…You set in church and think about everything else but God: how you going to do your washing; what are you going to do at the office tomorrow; how are you going to do this, that, or the other?” Keep your mind off of that and think on God. The Bible says, “If there be any praise, if there be any virtue, think on these things.”
“Wonder if I’ll be called in the prayer line?” “Wonder if God will speak…?” Don’t think that kind of a negative thought; don’t let it go through your mind. Make every word positive, and every thought positive. See it?
You know, the disciples, after resurrection of Jesus, Cleopas and his friend was on his road down to Emmaus, and as he went around talking about Jesus, thinking about Jesus, He stepped right out of the bushes and walked with them, while they were thinking on, while they were meditating. That’s the same way Jesus does today. In my heart, on my mind, all day long, let me walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, with the heavenly Dove, let me have fellowship all day long.

Faith and doubt is setting yourself in array, in this tabernacle, this morning; doubt on one side, faith on the other. Soldiers, stand at your post of duty. Hallelujah! Our Captain, the Morning Star, leads on. He never goes back. He (never) don’t know the word retreat. He don’t have to retreat. Amen. Certainly.
150The greatest battle ever fought, she is going on right in here now, yes, sir, between life and death, between sickness and health, between faith and doubt, oh, my, between liberty and bondage. The battle is on! Shine your spears, soldiers. Polish up the armor. God is getting His soldiers ready. Amen. God anoints His army.
151America dresses their soldiers in the best that they can have to dress with: steel helmets, and armors, and whatever they got, armored tanks, whatever they go in.
152God dresses His army. Hallelujah! What kind of equipment do we use? The Spirit of the Sword, the Word of God! Amen! “The Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword,” Hebrews 4, “piercing even to the asunder the bone, even the—the marrow of the bone, even a Discerner of the thoughts of the mind.” The Word of God! To believe His Word, and that’s the way God armors.
153That’s what He give Eve to arm herself with. And she broke her armor down. How’d she do it? By opening up her mind to reason. You don’t reason with God’s Word. It has no reason. You…It’s just God’s Word. There’s no—there’s no doubt about It. There’s no reasoning to It. It’s God’s Word. That settles it. That’s got it. That settles it forever.
