34In the mind of God, Christ was already crucified. For He was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Back in Eden, Christ in God’s thoughts, which became His Word, had not yet materialized. But He knew it was, for He had promised it. And He let the children of Israel draw interest before the deposit was made. So to show that it was, Him knowing what was going to be, He made something here that represented… So through the serpent, they could see what was going to happen, and through that, they received healing.

7Last Sunday, with you here, I believe I preached on the assurance, the power that God had promised; and ordained you and called you before the foundation of the world, and put your name in His Book. You had nothing to do with it. God did it. Isn’t that wonderful? The Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world, and (why?) it never happened till four thousand years later. But, God, when He spoke it, He had to do it, ’cause He has to keep His Word. And the same time that the Lamb was wrote down, your… you were wrote with Him. “Our names were written in the Lamb’s Book of Life,” not the night we come to Christ, but, “before the foundation of the world,” the Bible said. So that’s the assurance. And brother touched on that this morning in this marvelous Sunday school reading.

20Now, that is what I find around most Christian lives. Most, I hate to say it that way, but it’s true. The most people that can profess Christianity, they seem to have such a hard struggling time to hold on. I believe it’s because of a lack of correct teaching of—of the Bible. There’s no such a thing as holding on. He done the holding on. The whole Christian principle is based upon rest. “Come unto Me all ye that labor and heavy laden. I will give you rest.” Don’t have to worry and struggle. You’re just resting; that’s all. Given rest, you enter in peace, that the whole thing’s finished. “Them who He has called, He has justified. Those who He has justified, He has already glorified,” Scripture quoting.

But when He did everything, even to proving it by raising Himself up from the dead, afterwards, then don’t the–the Bride have to do the same thing, have to be exactly what the Word said She would be in these last days? Don’t She have to return through Malachi 4? Don’t She have to be manifested like it was in the days of Sodom? Don’t the world have to be just exactly like it is? Isn’t these things a perfect identification of the Word of God made known to us?
245Look, notice this. But God foresaw the Bride in the Groom. Hallelujah! See, to save His Wife, like Adam, He had to go with Her. Adam knowed what he was doing; Eve didn’t know what she was doing, but Adam walked out with his wife. See? And Jesus took His Wife’s place and became sin for Her. That’s… When was the Lamb slain? Before the foundation of the world. And when the Lamb was slain, your name was put on His Book. God by His foreknowledge saw all things. He’s infinite. He knowed the end from the beginning. He isn’t willing that any should perish. That’s not His desire. But being God, He had to know who would, and who would not. See? Like Esau and Jacob, He hated one and loved the other one before they was even born and had a chance to do anything, because He was God; He knowed all things.

54We’ve had a revival. Joel said. We fuss so much about latter rain, had movements called “latter rain,” latter rain, former rain, inter rain, outer rain. I was reading the other day. Do you know what former rain means in the Hebrew word? I can’t call it right now; I never wrote it down, it skipped my mind. But former rain, the first rain, means “a rain of teaching.” The second rain is the Spirit that comes upon what’s been taught, and produces the crop. Why is it we had such a revival? Pentecostal, Baptist, all the other trees put forth their buds, as Jesus said they would be. And what have we hatched out? The Baptists said they “got a million more in ’44.” Look at the Catholic, how they increased. Look at all denominations. Look at Pentecost. What did we do? We sowed denominational seeds, we reaped the denominational harvest. Why, the church ought to be on fire for God right now, if there had been a Word seed sowed back there, and there would be signs, wonders, miracles, and that church would be together, one heart, one accord, and marching toward Zion, for the Rapture. That’s right. What did we do? We had intellectual speeches instead of the Word. We had reasoning against the Word, and everything else.
55We got to get back to the Word. Got… We’ll do it! God said, “I will restore, saith the Lord, all the years that the cankerworms and palmerworms eat.” It’s going to bloom out in the evening time. There will come forth one with a Message, he’ll restore the hearts, or the faith of the children back to the Faith of the fathers. He promised it in Malachi 4, that He would do it, return them back again.

Not all that profess “Christians,” not all that try to live good and holy; but those whose names were written on there, He redeemed that, and that alone, whose names were on the Book.

And the Bible said the antichrist deceived all that lived upon the earth whose names were not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life from the foundation of the world. God, by His foreknowledge, saw you, put your name in His Book. And that’s the reason you’re here tonight, because you’ve answered that call. God foreknew you and called you, and you accepted His call.
Now, you say, can you… I… Every man seeks out his own salvation with fear and trembling. I hope my name was among that. But if it was, my name ever on the Book of Life, it was put there before the foundation of the world, when the Lamb was slain for me in the thinking of God. He’s infinite. You don’t just simply run a business just haphazardly. I don’t run my business like that, and you wouldn’t yours. God doesn’t His. Christ come to redeem those who God foresaw and foreknew that would come to Him. Aren’t you glad that you have come?
38And now, with reverence you say, “Brother Branham, am I there?” I don’t know. If you’re in the church, you’re there. And the only one way to get in the church: by one Spirit, we’re all baptized into one body by the Holy Spirit. We don’t join it. 39What’s the church scared about? I’ve always wondered what’s the matter with the Pentecostal people. They—they’ve got… They’ve got enough faith to blow up the world, and they’ve got enough faith for all kinds of healings, but they’re afraid to use it. That’s the devil. If we could break that shadow of blackness from under the people, something’s going to happen. And that’s my purpose here. I find two people, two classes. One of them’s fundamentalist. Oh, they positionally know where they are by accepting Christ, positioned in Him; but they haven’t got no faith. And I find the Pentecostals; a lot of faith, but don’t know who they are. Just like a man’s got money in the bank and can’t write a check; and the other one’s got—ain’t got no money in the bank and he can write a check. If you could ever get the two together you got something. And if I could ever get the Pentecostal people to realize that they are sons and daughters of God, setting in heavenly places right now in Christ Jesus, that God foreknew before the foundation of the world, has ordained us to preach the… What you scared about? 129Just seeds has to have the ground prepared first. “Therefore, all He foreknew, He called. All He called… All He foreknew, He predestinated.” If you want to read that, Romans 8:28-34, and also Ephesians 1:1-5. See, all He foreknew, He did call. All He called, He justified. And all He justified, He has already glorified. There’s nothing out of order. We think there is, but look in the Scriptures. It’s just hitting exactly the way God’s Word said it would. We see the Message is rejected, today. Isn’t that just what the Scripture said they would do? Sure, all these things are ordained of God.

The Falling Apart Of The World

193But we got a Kingdom, and in this Kingdom it has Eternal Life. Not membership, but Eternal Life. And it is governed by an Eternal King. 41Now, remember, there is three classes always at the judgment. We find out the Bride comes back with Christ, in Daniel. Ten thousands times ten thousands came with the Ancient of days. The judgment was set, and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which was the Book of Life. See, the sleeping virgin come up for the judgment. And a book of the ungodly was opened, and He separated the sheep from the goats, but the raptured church come back with Him.
Jesus comes three times. He came first to redeem His Bride. He comes the second time to catch Her away. He comes the third time with Her: To redeem His Bride, to receive His Bride, and to bring Him and His Bride back as King and Queen over the earth, set on His father, David’s throne.

110That’s what He proved! Hallelujah! That’s what Easter proved. He wasn’t only the Word, but He was God Himself, the Dynamics, in the Word. That made the body of Jesus Christ (cold, stiff, and dead, in the grave) shake into Life and rise again, and roll away the stone. “I am He that was dead,” so dead till the sun said He was dead, the moon said He was dead, the stars said He was dead. All nature said He was dead. And now the whole world has to recognize that He’s alive again. He was not only the Mechanics, God’s Word, He was the Dynamics to prove It.
111And as He, being the Groom, the Bride has to come forth, ’cause It’s part of Him. And It can only be the manifestation of the fulfilling of all the revelations any others has spoke of the Bride; It can only manifest. If it does something different from the Groom, it isn’t the Bride. Because, She is flesh of His flesh, bone of His bone; Life of His Life, Power of His Power! She is Him! As man and woman are one, and woman taken from his side; She had taken a Spirit, the feminish Spirit, from Him. The flesh from His side, made both Mechanics and Dynamics, the Wife. The Spirit of Him and the flesh of Him, and put it together, and made Mechanics and Dynamics. Until the church or the people…
112All these Easter bunnies, and ceremonies, and big churches, and finery, will fail and pass away.
113Until that Church becomes both Dynamics and Mechanics; and the Spirit of God, that moved Him, to do the things that He did! If He hit on sixteen cylinders, so will the Bride. Amen! For He said, in John 14:12, “He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also. I’ll give him a charge of My Dynamics, in his Mechanics, that the world will not be able to withstand it; and I’ll raise him up again at the last day.” That’s the Easter Message, the Dynamics and the Mechanics, together! The Mechanics without the Dynamics, no good; neither is the Dynamics, without the Mechanics.
114You can scream and shout, and jump up-and-down, all you want to, and deny this Word, it won’t do any good. You’re just cranking around the—the pistons of… Got the spark there to fire, but no gasoline to fire it by.
115It’ll only work as they come together. Amen! So, one will set still, and the other One will go up. That’s the only thing there is to it. Yet, they both might look alike, both claim to be churches, both claim to be Bride. But One has Mechanics and Dynamics, It brings it to pass, of what He said is the Truth.
116It just won’t move, no matter how good the Mechanics is, until the Dynamics come. When the Dynamics come, that Fire is made to connect with that octane in the gasoline. And when That explodes, it causes a combustion, and that combustion moves every motion, every move, for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That’s the resurrection. That’s the real Power of God, Mechanics with the Dynamics. Notice, “It’s the Spirit that quickens.” It’s the—it’s the Spark that fires. It’s not the gas that fires; it’s the Spark that fires the gas. See?
117“You can do nothing without Me; but with Me you can do all things.” As He is the Word, It’s the Father living. “Father sent Me, so send I you. As the Father has fired Me and pushed Me into everything, I do only that which is pleasing to God. Now, as He sent Me, so send I you with the same Mechanics, and it takes the same Dynamics to operate It. And these signs shall follow them that claim to have the Mechanics. 110That’s what He proved! Hallelujah! That’s what Easter proved. He wasn’t only the Word, but He was God Himself, the Dynamics, in the Word. That made the body of Jesus Christ (cold, stiff, and dead, in the grave) shake into Life and rise again, and roll away the stone. “I am He that was dead,” so dead till the sun said He was dead, the moon said He was dead, the stars said He was dead. All nature said He was dead. And now the whole world has to recognize that He’s alive again. He was not only the Mechanics, God’s Word, He was the Dynamics to prove It.
111And as He, being the Groom, the Bride has to come forth, ’cause It’s part of Him. And It can only be the manifestation of the fulfilling of all the revelations any others has spoke of the Bride; It can only manifest. If it does something different from the Groom, it isn’t the Bride. Because, She is flesh of His flesh, bone of His bone; Life of His Life, Power of His Power! She is Him! As man and woman are one, and woman taken from his side; She had taken a Spirit, the feminish Spirit, from Him. The flesh from His side, made both Mechanics and Dynamics, the Wife. The Spirit of Him and the flesh of Him, and put it together, and made Mechanics and Dynamics. Until the church or the people…
112All these Easter bunnies, and ceremonies, and big churches, and finery, will fail and pass away.
113Until that Church becomes both Dynamics and Mechanics; and the Spirit of God, that moved Him, to do the things that He did! If He hit on sixteen cylinders, so will the Bride. Amen! For He said, in John 14:12, “He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also. I’ll give him a charge of My Dynamics, in his Mechanics, that the world will not be able to withstand it; and I’ll raise him up again at the last day.” That’s the Easter Message, the Dynamics and the Mechanics, together! The Mechanics without the Dynamics, no good; neither is the Dynamics, without the Mechanics.
114You can scream and shout, and jump up-and-down, all you want to, and deny this Word, it won’t do any good. You’re just cranking around the—the pistons of… Got the spark there to fire, but no gasoline to fire it by.
115It’ll only work as they come together. Amen! So, one will set still, and the other One will go up. That’s the only thing there is to it. Yet, they both might look alike, both claim to be churches, both claim to be Bride. But One has Mechanics and Dynamics, It brings it to pass, of what He said is the Truth.
116It just won’t move, no matter how good the Mechanics is, until the Dynamics come. When the Dynamics come, that Fire is made to connect with that octane in the gasoline. And when That explodes, it causes a combustion, and that combustion moves every motion, every move, for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That’s the resurrection. That’s the real Power of God, Mechanics with the Dynamics. Notice, “It’s the Spirit that quickens.” It’s the—it’s the Spark that fires. It’s not the gas that fires; it’s the Spark that fires the gas. See?
117“You can do nothing without Me; but with Me you can do all things.” As He is the Word, It’s the Father living. “Father sent Me, so send I you. As the Father has fired Me and pushed Me into everything, I do only that which is pleasing to God. 9All these things is God’s foreknowledge. When He spoke of them what would be, He foreknew it. Now, God, in order to be God, at the beginning He had to know the end or He wasn’t the infinite God. God’s not willing that any should perish. Certainly not! He doesn’t want anyone to perish. But at the beginning of the beginning of the days, the—the world, God knew just exactly who would be saved and who would not be saved. He didn’t want the people to be lost, “It’s not His will that any should be lost, but it’s His will to save everybody,” but He knew from the beginning who would and who would not. That’s the reason He could foresay, “This thing will happen. That thing will happen,” or, “This will be that. This person will be that way.” See?
10He could foreknow it because He’s infinite. If you know what it means, that’s just, “there’s nothing that He don’t know.” See, He knows. Well, there’s nothing from before time, and after there’s no more time, see, He still knows everything. Everything is in His mind. And then as Paul said in Romans, the 8th and 9th chapter, “Then why does He still find fault?” So we see that, but God…

He just wanted to run it on out there into Eternal Security, and after a while you go on off into Universalism and you drop off out there somewhere, there’s no end to it. But when you get through with Calvinism, come back up and start on Arminianism. See, there’s another limb on the Tree, and another limb on the Tree, just keep on. The whole thing together makes the Tree. So I believe in—in the… in Calvinism as long as it stays in the Scripture.
13And I believe that God knew before the foundation of the world, chose His Church in Christ, and slayed Christ before the foundation of the world. Scripture said so, “He was the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world.” See? And Jesus said that He knew us before the foundation of the world, Paul said that, “He—He knew us and predestinated us unto the adoption of the children by Jesus Christ before the world was ever formed.” That’s God. 28But if we’d only go back to find out when God made His first man, He made man in His Own image. And God is a Spirit, so He had to make spirit-man.
Now, the Word is used here in the 5th verse of “predestination,” Predestinated, it’s not a very good word for an evangelist or a minister to use, because it kinda confuses people when you say “predestinate.” Predestination speaks—looks back to foreknowledge; foreknowledge looks to destination. Predestination goes back to foreknowledge; foreknowledge goes to destination.
In other words God didn’t say, “Now, I’ll make this man be this, and I’ll make this man to be that.” But in order to be God, He had to know the end from the beginning. So in order to foreknowledge that He knew, He could say, “This would happen, and that would happen,” because He was God and knowed where everything would be placed. And therefore, He could ordain certain things for certain ages. You believe that? That—that’s truly Scripture.

292Paul said, “Let’s go on to perfection now.” We’re talking about perfected. And if we’ll run this down, you’ll find out, the perfected is the Elected. I’ll prove it to you, in a few minutes, by the Bible. It’s the Elected who God, before the foundation of the world, seen every one of them. And He sent Jesus to redeem that people, not the whole world. He wanted to, but He had to make a way for those. And the only way He could do, was to send Christ; that He might come, the propitiation of our sins, that those who have been elected, He could bring to Him, in Glory.
293Could you imagine God running His office so loosely, as to say, “Well, maybe somebody will think real sad about Me, maybe they’ll come and get saved”? God don’t have to beg you to do nothing. Any begging, you need to do the begging, not God.
294And then, Christ died to save those who God, by foreknowledge, elected to meet Him yonder without spot or wrinkle. Before the foundation of the world, He seen you in Glory. That’s what the Bible said, Ephesians, the 1st chapter. 5th chapter, the 1st verse. God predestinated by foreknowledge.
295Now, if God did that, predestinated us before the foundation of the world; and knew every one of us by name, before the foundation of the world; and Elected us to Eternal Life; and sent Jesus Christ to redeem us; that, six thousand years ago, He saw us, that we might appear to His praises in Glory! How can you ever be lost?
296Now, if you’re saved, you’re saved. If God saves you tonight, knowing He’s going to lose you ten years from today, He is defeating His Own purpose; the infinite, Almighty, Eternal, everlasting wisdom, God, doesn’t know enough then to know whether you will hold out or whether you won’t. Then, when He saves you, and say, “Well, I’ll give him a trial, and see what he’ll do,” then He does not know the end from the beginning. God knows what He’s doing, don’t you never worry about that. It’s you and I stumbling along. God knows what He’s doing. And He knew we… whether we’d hold out, or what we would do.
The Spoken Word Is The Original Seed

420Notice what harmony! Jesus never did anything until seen of the Father, or, the Father showed Him first. Harmony between God and Christ, see, John 5:19. So will the Bride, and He shows Her His Word of Life. He shows Her, and She receives It. She never doubts It. Nothing can harm Her, not even death. For if the Seed be planted, the water will raise It up again. (Amen. Then I got a great big “Hallelujah!”) Here is the secret. The Word is in the Bride, and the mind of Christ, to know what He wants done with the Word. And She does it in His Name. She has THUS SAITH THE LORD. Then It is germitized, so the Holy Spirit waters It until It is grown and serves Its purpose.
421They do only His will. (Amen. I’ll believe that.) No one can persuade them different. They have THUS SAITH THE LORD or they keep still. Then they will do the works of God, for It is Himself in them continuing His Word to fulfill, as He did complete in His days. All things, when He was here, He did not complete all when He was here, for it was not time yet.
An Absolute

120Romans 8:1, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” We find out, I believe that’s Romans 5, we find out. And—and He is our justification. God raised Him up on the third day, to justify our faith, that we believe it. And He raised Him up, to justify our faith. What did He do then? He sent Him back, the Justifier, because our faith believes it. The Holy Spirit, Christ, come into it, for our justification, because we have raised from death unto Life. And now we are sons and daughters of God, sitting in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus, justified us by His resurrection.
121That give us justification, to know, with the—with the earnest of our salvation within us now, the very Life of Christ pulsating in us. And how then could we deny the Word? Which, He is the Word that gives us the… this assurance. The Holy Spirit is there. What is It? It’s still that North Star, the Christ is that North Star. And the Holy Spirit is that justification that points the believer right straight to the North Star. Right.
122The Holy Ghost will always point to the Word. If It points to a creed or denomination, it is not the Holy Ghost. He couldn’t do that, point away from His Word, when He died to confirm that Word and make that Word a positive. Amen. He died so He could come, Himself, into that Word. He is the quickening Life that makes that Word live again. That was His purpose of dying, that He could still project Himself through His Church, and make every Word, through every age, act just exactly the way It’s supposed to act.
123He is the dynamics of the mechanics. The mechanics of the Church, what is it? Apostles, prophets, teachers, so forth. And He is the dynamics that works that. And it’s worked by a certain dynamic which is called like… He, He is the Fire that fires off the gas. He is the Fire that’s in the combustion chamber, that when the—the gas, the—the Word, is poured over that combustion chamber, He is the One that sets her afire. He is the One that confirms it. He is the power of the resurrection. He is God. He, He is the Fire, that’s what He is.

241The Spirit left Him, in the Garden of Gethsemane. He had to die, a man. Remember, friends, He didn’t have to do that. That was God. God anointed that flesh, which was human flesh. And He didn’t… If He’d a went up there, as God, He’d have never died that kind of death; can’t kill God. But He didn’t have to do it.
242But, remember, He went there with you in Him. See, God had never separated the Bride from the Groom, yet. So when God looked down upon the body of Christ, He saw both male and female. It was all redeemed in that one body. See? They are one, same, same Word. The same Word, spoke of the Groom, speaks of the Bride.
243Well, how can the Bride come, and fail to manifest everything was promised of Him; and the Groom come, and He wouldn’t be the Bride? But when He did everything, even to proving it by raising Himself up from the dead, afterwards, then don’t the—the Bride have to do the same thing, have to be exactly what the Word said She would be in these last days? Don’t She have to return through Malachi 4? Don’t She have to be manifested like it was in the days of Sodom? Don’t the world have to be just exactly like it is? Isn’t these things a perfect identification of the Word of God made known to us?

245Look, notice this. But God foresaw the Bride in the Groom. Hallelujah! See, to save His Wife, like Adam, He had to go with Her. Adam knowed what he was doing; Eve didn’t know what she was doing, but Adam walked out with his wife. See? And Jesus took His Wife’s place and became sin for Her. Remember, He became you, He stood your punishment, that you might stand in His place. He stood in your place, that you might stand in His place. What a love! What a fellowship! How can we deny it? How can we do anything but love Him, friend? I could stay on it hours, but let’s move on a little farther.
246Like the pentecostal experience today, and the coming of the Holy Ghost in this last days, as promised, is like the abstract to a title deed. See?
247Now, you can get a title. Sure. See? You can get a title to a place, but that still don’t say it’s yours. No, sir. Somebody way back yonder could come in and put a claim on it. But when you get an abstract, that shows that everything that’s ever against it is struck off, plumb back from the foundation. Is that right?
248And when a man has said that he believes the Word, and then when the Holy Spirit comes, It is the abstract to the title. And that gives you permission, when you have that abstract, that every bit of that belongs to you, and everything is on it belongs to you. Amen! And that gives us the abstract, when the Holy Ghost comes upon this title deed that God saw back yonder ’fore the foundation of the world, and put it name on the Book of Life; but was born through a man and woman, and subject to sin, and guilty of sin. But when I believed on It, I received the deed; but when the Holy Ghost come, It was the abstract that everything against me, whether my mother done it, my father done it, my grandmother done it…
249Like the little, epileptic child I prayed for, a few minutes ago, that come through from the grandparents. The epilepsy fell down, and upon the child, I said.
250But when the abstract has come, It struck off, omitted everything. I’m a abstract holder then. Amen! And as sure as the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, I have a abstract deed that I’m part of that Body, with the abstract of the Holy Ghost making that body of Word live out just exactly like It did in Him, as He promised in the last day. The abstract! All my sins are struck out, all your sins are struck out, by the Blood of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost is come as an abstract to the title deed that God give me by grace, by foreknowledge. Oh, my!
251What you scared about? No wonder He said, “Fear not; I am He that was dead and alive again; and I’m alive for evermore; and have the keys of death and hell.” Don’t worry about nothing. Even death ain’t going to hurt you. Notice. Beautiful!
An Absolute

38An Absolute. Now, I was looking in the dictionary, to find out. When I was looking at the word, identified, I come into this word, absolute. And the absolute, according to Webster’s dictionary, is, says it’s “perfect in itself; unlimited in power; primarily an ultimate.”
39An Absolute. It’s used many times. It’s “the last word” It’s “the amen.” You hear people say, “Absolutely, that’s it.” That’s “the last thing.” It’s—it’s “unlimited.” See? That, that takes “from here on.” There’s “nothing else in its way.” It’s—it’s “the supreme.” It’s “an ultimate.” And an ultimate is, when, primarily an ultimate, because you’ve “reached the end.” It’s “the amen.” That’s all.
Absolute

125But notice, in the midst of all that, the prescription remains. That’s why we got so many sick children, because they’re not listening to what the Doctor said. The absolute, when you’ve tied to That, that’s it. That’s God’s Word. It cannot fail.
126Christ-centered life, very religious, but it wasn’t Christ-centered. So many of us have that today.
127And when you get this Christ-centered life, it makes you do things you ordinarily wouldn’t do. It makes you act different than ordinarily you would act. I don’t mean act silly. I mean act in the Spirit, something that’s real, something that’s genuine. And when you see somebody acting silly, you know they’re only putting on something. They’re only trying to impersonate where that genuine thing is.
128When you see a bogus dollar, remember there’s a good dollar it was made off of. See? When you see a bogus, it’s absolutely a off-shadow of something that’s real. It’s something that—that is genuine, is copied off of.
129Notice, it makes you do things ordinarily you wouldn’t do. Oh, it is something. You are certain. You are very certain of it, when you get this absolute. You’re positive of it. You don’t take what’s somebody else’s experience.
An Absolute

96It’s just like a ship. See? A ship has—has an absolute, and that ship’s absolute is the anchor.
97Now, when that ship is in a tossing waters, where easily could be throwed against a rock, or—or bursted up; or hit ground, where the—the water is not deep enough; and the great swells, coming up, will flash the ship, turn it over.
98It’s got to have deep enough water to float it, or the waves will turn it over. And—and a ship with the anchor, that great, mighty tons of—of metal that it drops out, of steel. And it goes down, down, until it hits the top of the bed of the ocean, somewhere in a top of a mountain. And that great anchor pulls, as the waves rock the ship, till it strikes its great big spears into a rock. And, there, the ship has an absolute. It’s anchored. Waves might toss it about, but, still, that ship can stand just perfectly still, where it’s anchored, because it’s an absolute to it.
99And if Christ is your Absolute, you are tied to Him in that manner, no matter what anybody says, how hard the persecution gets, how bad the storm seems to be, how—how it looks impossible for it to happen. If something has happened in you, that, Christ becomes your Absolute, or any promise in the Bible becomes your absolute. If you are sick, and—and you are praying for healing, and something becomes to that, strikes that promise in the Bible, “I’ve got it,” there is nothing going to wave you from It.
An Absolute

101And a man or a woman, just in philosophy or church joining, or something like that, you’re not anchored yet. You, you would take your letter from one church to the other, from one place to another. But if you just take the real Absolute, Christ, anchor yourself in That. Don’t make any difference what comes or goes, you’re still anchored.
102And what the Christian needs today, in this atomic age, and this time of uncertainty, you need something besides just an experience of joining church. You need an anchor, an absolute, that you know. Because, churches will fail, and people will fail. But Christ cannot fail. He, He’s the—He’s the Absolute to the believer. And if Christ is your Absolute, you’re tied to Him. And if He is your Absolute, and you’re tied to Him, then you’re tied to the Word.
103Now, now, This tells whether we got the right absolute or not. See?
104If you can read in that Scripture, something that Christ has ordained or commissioned us to do; and, because of some twisting around, if someone would tell you That was for the disciples or someone else; and then you don’t hold onto That, then Christ is not your Absolute. That person who led you out of the Way is your absolute.
105But if that Word, Christ, still holds, see, then He’s your Absolute. We mustn’t let anything stir us out of the way of the Word. See?
Absolute

142It’s like, the absolute to the Christ, the absolute to the Christian, is like the… It, it’s like the anchor in the ship. Yes. You, you got to have an absolute. And if Christ is your absolute, it’s like the anchor. That, when you… The sea is very rough, and the ship is about ready to sink, and, you, only one hope you have, is, cast anchor. And then if the ship is tossing, see if the anchor will hold the ship. You know, we got a song, I forget the author’s name now, but, My Anchor Holds.
143Like the little boy, as we’ve many times thought, flying the kite. You couldn’t see nothing, but he had the string. And a man passed by and said, “What are you doing, sonny?” Said, “I’m flying my kite.” He said, “What’s you got in your hand?” Said, “The string.”
144Said, “Where is the kite?” Said, “I don’t see it. Well, how do you know you’re flying a kite?”
145He said, “I can feel it. It’s a tugging.” See? At the end of that string, there was an absolute. To his little way, that kite was his absolute, so he could say he was flying a kite. Though he couldn’t see it, but he had a hold, something, that had a hold of it.
146That’s the way a man, when he’s born again of the Holy Spirit, he’s got a hold of something that’s got an anchor out yonder, and the storms doesn’t shake him. He knows he’s all right. He’s anchored. All right.

10But I know that it’s they have a law here, a fire marshal’s law; just so many, you have to leave so much aisles, and so forth. And that they cannot help. Because that we are, as Christians, we’ve got to do that. For the Bible said, Jesus told us to, “Give Caesar those things that pertain to Caesar, and then to God those things that belong to God.” So we try to. And if we will not obey Caesar, it’s doubtful that we’d obey God. And as long as—as Caesar’s laws doesn’t interfere with God’s, we must obey God first. And then these fire hazards, and so forth, well, they know how to take care of that, and they told us.

Go down there and cast in the hook, and the first fish you bring up, open his mouth, and the bank will pay off. And take it down there and give it to them for Me and you, so we won’t offend them.” I said, “God, You still got fish.” I don’t know how I’m going to do it, but a brother setting right here, it went on my note. I went down and borrowed forty thousand dollars, with the understanding that I’d pay it back in ten years, four thousand a year. I don’t know how to do it, but He’s still got fish. 19I went home, and I wrote… After writing the check… And I put on there. “Paid in full for all back taxes.” And I thought, “Would the government accept it like that.” And just before coming down here, I thought I’d better call the bank. I called the bank, and the teller went in and looked. He said, “Yes, they accepted it, Billy. You’re free. You’re pardoned.” Oh, my. Something run over me. I run into the room and grabbed my wife around the neck. I said, “Honey, I’m pardoned. I’m free. The old account’s been settled. I can go now wherever I want to, wherever the Lord leads me. I’m free. Such a hard time, everybody’s hurrying just as fast as they can go, down the street at ninety miles an hour through every speed zone. If it’s twenty, they go ninety anyhow. And we’re so nervous. I don’t believe real Christians do this, but many of them just light one cigarette after another. What’s the matter? You think that helps you? It only makes you more nervous. But you do it. The doctors will write articles, and put them in the—the magazines, and said, “Cancer by the carload,” telling you how danger it is to smoke them and… But you do it anyhow. What’s the matter? You’re trying to let off the pressure.

38A few days ago, down in Ohio, in a court they said that all children had to be sent to college. They want no illiteracy in Ohio. And the Amish people don’t send their children to these modern high schools. And they’ve never had on the record of all the Amish in… ?… history, of one case of juvenile delinquency. Let them dress different, and act different, and be peculiar, and act… But they haven’t had no—no juvenile delinquency. Not one case on their records of—of America. They don’t send them to them kind of places. And they passed a law that they’d have to go their own high schools and colleges.
And the old mother and father was called in because they didn’t send their son.
And the judge said, “You’ll either send them, or you’ll serve two years in prison.” I was in Middletown, Ohio at the time it happened.
And the father said, “I refuse to do it, sir. Not for being different, but because that I come to America, thinking that this was freedom of religion (We don’t have no more democracy.)—freedom of religion.
He said, “You’ll either abide by our laws, or you’ll pay—you’ll pay the penalty like the rest of them would.”
He said, “I refuse to send them.”
Said, “I sentence you and the mother, two years in the penitentiary.”
39The last flower of democracy faded in that courtroom. The father got up and said, “Very well, I’ll spend it to save my son. I don’t want any of your rock-and-rolls and your nonsense.” And when he started out, the unjust judge tried to justify himself by saying that, “Remember the Scripture says, ‘Give Caesar what’s Caesars.”
And he turned around and said, “And to God… ?” But it bloomed again just in a few minutes. His whole bench quit the job, and resigned their office. God be blessed for a few real outstanding Americans yet there. What should the Church do? Take a stand and stand there, without moving.
Hear Ye Him

45I was a hunting one day… Now I’m closing. I was hunting one day with a friend up in the north woods, where I hunt very much. That man was a good man, but he was the most cruel-hearted person. And he liked to show off, just like many people do. Well, I’ll give you to understand, I’m Dr. So-and… ” I don’t care. See? “Well now, you don’t even know your… ” That’s all right. I know Him. But he said… He loved to shoot fawns just to be mean. Now, it’s all right. If the law says you can have a fawn, that’s all right. Take it and be satisfied. But he’d kill eight or ten a year, just because that I called him out for it. I used to be a game warden for many years. And I bawled him out and I said, “Bert, you oughtn’t to do that. That’s not right.” “Oh,” he said, “you chicken hearted preacher.” So I said, “All right. Go ahead; but you’re doing wrong and someday it’s going to come back to you. If you want a fawn, you got as much right to get the fawn as Abraham had to take the calf. But you must take one, for you must give Caesar what’s Caesar’s, and God’s what’s God’s.”
46But he’d shoot the fawns, just to make me holler at him. And one year when I went up to hunt, he’d made a little old whistle. And he could make that whistle go on just like a little fawn crying. And I said, “Bert, are you going to use that?” He said, “Aw, preacher, get next to yourself.” And when we’re in the woods a couple days later, we come to a little opening. The snow was off of the opening where the sun had come… ?… drift to the woods. And he set down there and blew this whistle, sounded like a little fawn making a cry. And listen now closely. And when he blew the whistle, what appeared on the other side but a beautiful big doe, a mother deer. Oh, she looked so graceful: her big brown eyes a looking, her ears sticking up. And she walked out towards the clearing. Why? She was a mother. A baby had cried. Where was it? It was in trouble. A mother, a mother’s love calling…
47And I watched this man pull back the lever and throw a shell into the rifle. I thought, “Oh, Bert, you’re not going to do that.” And I seen him, as a dead shot, raising his rifle, placing the cross hairs on her heart, setting his shoulder for the recoil of the rifle.
And that big doe and the gallant display of heroism walked out, tramping, looking, and she spied the hunter. I said, “Oh, how… ” I thought, “How could you do it, Bert?” She was looking for that baby. Though she knew that that rifle would take her life in a few moments, it didn’t bother her. There was something in her, Her nature, she was a mother. Didn’t made any difference whether she died or not, the baby was in trouble. She was looking down the rifle barrel. The baby’s in trouble… She seen the hunter and the gun raised, but where was the baby? She walked on into the opening. I said, “Oh, God, please; oh, don’t let him do it. How can he do that?”
48And as I was praying, I noticed the gun didn’t fire: very quick shot. I looked back, and as I saw him with his gun, and the gun barrel was shaking. I looked at him. He turned around and tears was rolling down his cheeks. He laid his gun down in the grass, and run over there, and he said, “Billy, I’ve had enough of it. I can’t do it. Billy, pray for my sinful soul.” What was it? He saw a display of real mother love that would walk in the face of death because a baby was in trouble.
People, God is looking for men and women who has the love of God in their hearts, who can walk in the face of death itself, and call those things which are not as though they were, ’cause God said so, the love of God in their hearts. Let’s pray.
To See Jesus

3This is, perhaps for the next year or two, the closing, and the—the meetings of this type. I’m going overseas right away; I’m very… I was walking across here just a few moments ago, kinda tip-toeing; in order to go overseas they won’t you board the plane with you have a sufficient amount of inoculation. I tried to reason with them and tell them I didn’t need it, but they wouldn’t listen to me. They… So the Bible said, “Give Caesar what’s Caesar’s, and God what’s God’s.” And I had to take a great bunch of shots, and my arms are all swollen up, and I—I—I wish we didn’t have to take them, but we all have to do it.
I remember the last time I tried to get away without taking that yellow fever shot, so I went right to the airport, and they made me stay over and take it anyhow. Then they told me I couldn’t land in Africa unless it would be ten days after the shot, but the Lord gave me favor with the medical association, and the second morning… I arrived one night, and the next morning they called me to have breakfast with them. So they told me they thought it would be all right, so I thanked them, and they were very nice. And I didn’t have to wait ten days before starting ministering, we started the very same night we landed. And the Lord did do great things.

1Thank you. Good evening, friends. I didn’t think I’d be speaking to you again so quick. Well, we’re taught, all things work together for good to them that love the Lord. I know I love Him, and I trust that this is for good.
I was quite disappointed when they told me I had to come back and have some yellow fever germs put in me. I was trying to get them out. But let alone… ?… if there were any in there. But the nations has some peculiar rulings. So I guess we have to give Caesar what’s Caesar’s and God what’s God’s. Don’t we. So they took me down and poked a needle in my arm, and—and now, I guess they’re going to try it again in the morning. So we’ll try to go again in the morning, the Lord willing, to—to Africa.

But I mean the real true believer is coming to that battlefield, and you had better be versed and know what you’re doing, or you could take an evil spirit so easy and not know. The First Seal

63Notice what happens, as we go along. Here is the plan of it. The first thing happens, there is a—a—an announcement in the Heavens, first. What happens? A Seal is opened. What is that? A mystery is unfolded. See? And when a mystery unfolds, then a trumpet sounds. It declares a war. A plague falls, and a church age opened. See?
64What is the “war” part? The angel of the Church catches the mystery of God, not fully yet revealed. But, when he does, he catches this mystery of God, and then he goes forth to the people after the mystery has been given to him. Goes forth to the people! What does he do out there? He begins to proclaim that Message. And what does it start? A war, a spiritual war.
