“Not all angels play the harp and sing—some are warriors.”
“The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” Psalm 34:7
We sometimes see angels depicted in art as rosy-cheeked cherubs, with a look of mischief on their chubby little faces. Other depictions, portray them as maternal figures leading little children across potentially dangerous bridges to safer ground.
However, angels in the Bible have differing roles and even more varied descriptions of appearance! Some are created to bring us quiet protection and comfort, while others are made for warfare. These are sent with instructions to deliver true Believers from attacks against us and they possess the necessary weapons to carry out their tasks and secure for us the victory!
We may not often see them, but nonetheless they are real and minister to us in ways that we are often unaware of which includes fighting against the enemies that seek to delay the answer to our prayers. (See Daniel 10; Hebrews 1:13-14 and Psalm 91:11)
“And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:16-18
No matter how hot your battle grows, you are not fighting alone. We serve the God of angel armies and He sends them to fight on our behalf! We can REST, knowing that our VICTORY is SURE as long as we remain consecrated to His great purpose for our lives!
Your Papa really loves you!t
