Hebrews 12:14-15 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
There are often many grievious wounds that we receive as Christians, most of them are dealt to us by others in the household of faith.
God allows these hurts and conflicts to cause us to grow in our dependency on Him. We are matured as Sons, when we are forced to cling harder to our Papa!
We must be careful that we allow Him to soothe and heal us from every festering gash. He alone can bandage and bind up every wound! He alone can pour in the oil and wine, applying the healing balm, to make us whole again!
Holding on to the pain by rehashing in our minds every tiny detail again and again can often lead to sickness and disease: physical, emotional or spiritual.
Present your hurts, every wound and every care to our great physician. He will not only heal you but He will also surgically remove any root of resentment, unforgiveness or even bitterness that seeks to grow beneath the surface!
“Don’t let no root of bitterness ever get into your soul. If you do, it’ll canker you. Right. Keep love! I don’t care how much people hate you, you love them anyhow. If you can’t do that …you ain’t sealed, you got a loose place yet. So come on, on back, and get that sealed up right good with the Blood of Christ. It’ll cleanse you from all roots of bitterness.” — Rev. William Marrion Branham
