“With His Own Blood, Jesus entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.” Hebrews 9:12
Hebrews 9:11-12 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
We have reflected this week on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), that one specific day of the year that the High Priest would go behind the veil and into the Holy of Holies to sprinkle the blood of a young bull and goat on the mercy seat. (Leviticus 16)
This solemn ceremony and offering had to be carried out every year, on this holy day, in order for the sins of the entire nation to be covered. While this blood offering had an expiration date and had to be repeated yearly, WE have been REDEEMED with an offering of BLOOD, that is for ETERNITY!
So PERFECT was this blood and the LIFE of GOD that it contained that Once we access it by repentance, we are ETERNALLY transformed by the POWER and LIFE that it carries. When this TRUTH is revealed to us, it compels us to surrender our will to His will and to serve this GOOD God, that so loved us before the foundations of the earth were laid that He conceived such a magnificent SALVATION.
Hebrews 10:10-14 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Let us reconsecrate and rededicate our entire beings to Him and live THE LIFE that causes others to see the value of His sacrifice! May the LAMB receive the reward for His suffering in all of us!
