“I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages.” Charles Spurgeon
At times it may feel that life’s circumstances are beating us to a pulp! It may seem nearly impossible to keep our heads above water as wave upon wave dashes us about like a fishing cork bobbing around in a troubled sea! Suddenly, we seem to strike a hard solid surface with a crash of intensity that nearly takes our breath. We too quickly surmise that we will most certainly lose our lives in this storm, as we are slammed repeatedly against a huge boulder — one that must be precisely positioned to accomplish our death!
However, the REAL truth, not our “perceived truth,” is that THIS ROCK is Jesus, the Rock of all ages.” Had it not been for those aggressive waves of circumstance and even pain we could have been drowned again and again! Those waves were chosen and orchestrated not to destroy but rather to preserve us by throwing us repeatedly upon the Solid answer. Our only Hope is found in Him! (Read Philippians 4:6-7 and Romans 8:28)
No matter what you are facing or feeling today, I encourage you to cling to this solid Rock, hold on to Him with all your remaining strength. He has a plan and He will be your rest and refuge!
“Do not curse with your mouth the adversity that drives you closer to Christ but instead take full advantage of the haven He provides! Today kiss the waves, give God thanks for choosing for you a plan that draws you closer to Him!” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
